Recently, the policy researcher from the Center for the Governance of AI, Future of Humanity Institute, University of Oxford made a special visit to Hu Jiaqi, the president of Save Human Action Organization.
Having warmly received the visitor, Mr. Hu Jiaqi discussed together with him issues, such as science and technology security risks, human survival and development, etc. and exchanged their views.
Hu Jiaqi explained his original intention of paying attention to the human destiny since he was 17 years old, and also reviewed the academic course of research, writing and appeal to all to give attention to human issues over the past 41 years. Mr. Hu expressed that he would continue to strive for human undertakings for the rest of his life. Besides, he would make joint efforts with Save Human Action Organization established by him to promote the awakening movement of all mankind in a peaceful way, so as to make human beings realize that the irrational development of science and technology would certainly cause risks to the world security. If no control is given, human beings will fall into the abyss of extinction one day! Faced with crisis of human survival and the world security, Hu Jiaqi proposed solutions—only by realizing the grand unification of human beings and using power of the world regime to resolutely restrict the uncontrolled development of technology, can we save the human beings from extinction.
The researcher listened carefully and took notes. Later, he introduced to Hu Jiaqi that the aim of the Center for the Governance of AI, Future of Humanity Institute, University of Oxford for which he works is to study how geopolitics, governance structure and strategic trend influence the development of advanced artificial intelligence. The research activities mainly focus on understanding the prospect of global cooperation in reducing the risk of emerging technology, including artificial intelligence and biotechnology. The researcher said that he and his colleagues had read Hu Jiaqi’s academic book Saving Humanity, and they admired Hu Jiaqi’s endeavor in risks to human survival. Also he expounded his understanding of and opinion about the book Saving Humanity, and discussed with Hu Jiaqi issues related to risk control in science and technology.
As Hu Jiaqi said, Save Human Action Organization is an international non-governmental organization incorporated in the US in 2019. Hu Jiaqi, as a firm and persistent anthropologist, felt that his personal ability and the promotion channels were limited, so he made every effort to seek breakthroughs in methods. After profound thinking, Hu Jiaqi decided to establish an organization, to unite friends in the same camp and mobilize extensively collective force. Finally realize the goal that various parties will fight side by side, and do their best to save the mankind.
At the end of the meeting, Hu Jiaqi expressed to the visitor that Save Human Action Organization is willing to establish close cooperation with international community and advanced agencies in the field of technological risk control. Besides, he expects to cooperate with the Future of Humanity Institute, University of Oxford. They can set up a research institution together if possible, so as to make unremitting endeavor to promote the awakening movement and seek long-term happiness for all mankind!
